You Are NOT Cheap: An Easter Sunday Reflection
April 21, 2019
I love how we conduct the Station of the Cross in our parish every Good Friday. After each reading, a short video clip from the movie Passion of Christ related to each reading and prayer will be shown/played. Not that I enjoy watching how Jesus Christ suffered, but because I want to be reminded of what He has to go through for me and you. I always cry at the scene of scourging at the pillar when after all the beatings, Jesus got up, hands shaking, as if He is speaking to me, “Anak, kaya ko pa! Kakayanin ko para sa’yo dahil mahal na mahal na mahal kita. At sa pagpapakasakit at pagkamatay ko sa Krus, hindi na tayo magkakahiwalay.” And He did! He fulfills His promise and remains faithful.
Jesus may seem a helpless victim in the eyes of Jewish leaders and Roman soldiers that time, but we know God makes ALL THINGS WORK FOR THE GOOD (Romans 8:28). There may be pain and grief on Good Friday but JOY comes immediately on Easter Sunday (Psalm 30:5). The Lord has risen! He rose victoriously from the dead 😇🙏☝️
Now, through His passion and resurrection, be reminded, “YOU ARE NOT CHEAP!” Though unworthy, still He saves you and loves you unconditionally. Who is like thee?
This Easter, may we continue to realize and recognize the darkness in us. Continue trying to be holy with the grace and mercy of God, and most importantly, continue to TRUST, to BELIEVE, and to SURRENDER to His will. After all, Easter is about rising again 🙏☝️
Happy Easter po! 😇🙏☝️ May the love, grace, and mercy of the risen Lord magnify and continue to shine to us and our family 😊💕
