5 THINGS I’VE LEARNED FROM MY FATHER’S SUDDEN DEATH

It was the night after a long weekend (Holy Week) when all my bags were packed and ready to leave for work the next day; but for some reason, I didn’t feel like going. That same night, at around 11 PM, we were awakened by a call from my Ninong who told us that Tatay was in the hospital, and we needed to go immediately to sign some papers. We shrugged off the possibility that it was serious while on our way. Maybe, we just need to sign a waiver, a discharge order, or whatever. However, we learned that he was comatosed upon arriving. When God Says It’s Time – Part 2

It’s been a year and four months since Rod and I got engaged. It feels surreal even up to this date that I could still recall every single detail of that special moment. Allow me to share my “kilig” with you in the midst of the pandemic that we are experiencing. It was a long day for me. I’ve attended a half day meeting which was probably the reason why I felt dizzy on my way home. Thinking that I was just hungry, I went to Mcdo for a light dinner and after that, paid bills at 7/11. When I walked out from the store, it was already raining. I walked towards the bus terminal anyway, only to see a large crowd waiting for buses to come by and take them home. I don’t want to risk my health and so I called Rodzky, my boyfriend, to pick me up instead. I didn’t ask him directly though. I just said, “Baby…

    How Do I Find Love

Warning: This is not a love story. The clock keeps ticking. The date and year keeps changing. Uyy, baka nalilibang ka na ata, a co-lector/commentator once told me. Of course, he’s pertaining to my love life. I know in my heart that that reminder was out of good intentions, but my narrow mind spoke otherwise. Anong magagawa ko kung wala pa? Ayy, bakit wala ka pang boyfriend? Sa ganda mong yan, wala pa rin? Di ako naniniwala na wala. Baka kasi choosy ka? Kelan ka mag-aasawa? I endured these statements for many years. Many times, I feel hopeless. Many times, I have asked God, Lord, bakit naman po kung kelan…
