Personal Reflection

Re-bloom: Starting 2025 Right

Seeing this rainbow served as an affirmation that I am still still on the right track despite the delays.

Early this year during a job interview, I was asked by my interviewer of my hobbies and interests. It’s been a while since I was asked by that question and I got a little excitement to tell my hobbies such as traveling and blogging. Then suddenly, I remembered that those were the things I used to enjoy prior to the pandemic. And I never got to go back yet to my old self since the last five years became a major transition for me — finishing graduate school, getting married, implementing a national project, having a baby and adjusting to motherhood. These things took up my time. That simple question actually triggered me to reflect and make plans again on regaining my old self after all the transitions and transformations for the past five years. After some discernment, I came up with the theme re-bloom which the Lord affirmed through a Bible Verse from Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.

Most of my personal goals and to-do-list were suspended during these years. And it was only during the first two weeks of January 2025 that I was able to set a dedicated time to review and bring back things from the past to accomplish it now, before I form new habits and create new goals and to-do-list. By the grace of God, those things were already in my calendar and ready to tick-off.

If you are like me who has a lot of pending list from the past years, I’d like to remind you that it’s never too late to start. Don’t wait for motivation to come to you because I realized that time goes by way too fast and you will already lose your chance if you continue to procrastinate. I do not know if I will be successful this time, but I’d like to congratulate myself because I took the first steps towards accomplishing all my goals this year. I can’t wait to tick-off my to-do list. It’s time to re-bloom, to follow God’s path for me. His grace is new every morning and I’d like to maximize that grace.

May God be praised!
