She Leads: 4 Ways to Empower A Woman
This blog entry is to elaborate what my page is all about.
As an extrovert, it is not surprising that I am passionate about adventures. I love to explore and try new things as well as to go to unknown places whether with a group or as a solo traveller. Hence, my original niche or blog theme is about travel. Later on, I realized that I also write about other topics that seemingly made my old blog chaotic. I scanned through my work and discovered that most of my blog entries mirror things I wish I was able to read in my younger years, or I wish someone could have told and guided me. As the eldest in the family, I was raised strong, independent, and fearless. However, deep inside me is a girl who is still a newbie, noob, and naive. That is the idea of the theme “women empowerment” came about. This page is where I can be a sister to my readers as they find my blog entries, draw from my experiences, relatable and inspiring.
What is a Woman?
God revealed His intention when He created the woman in Genesis 2:18 and that is to become a suitable helper for a man. She is the missing puzzle piece that completes, balances, and harmonizes God’s creation. Men and women therefore, are partners. One is not less than the other as both are created in God’s image and likeness. Though unique in many ways, they compliment and work together to accomplish their mission in God’s kingdom, for God’s greater glory.
A woman blooms wherever she is planted and in whatever season. She embraces the role and vocation God calls her to. Whatever task you give her, she gracefully completes it with quality.
Overcoming challenges and adversities is her innate capability. She may cry, but at the end of the day she will get up, try again, succeed, and bounce back.
As a daughter, she is kind and obedient. As a sister, she is protective. As a friend, you can count on her. As a wife, she is loving, respectful, and submissive. As a mother, she is caring and nurturing. She fights for her loved ones. She is a cheerful giver. She is a life bringer and life giver.
I am a Woman
There were days of pampering and pruning — these made me into the woman I am today. The path towards where God calls me was narrow and challenging as there were lots of obstacles. But He made sure I was equipped. He gave me wisdom and inner strength to move and carry through.
I was never alone in my journey — in every stage and season. God was there. At times I wanted to give up, He would encourage me and give me rest. God also surrounded me with people who will guide, inspire, and walk with me as I navigate through life. Therefore, holding back and becoming fearful and complacent, were never in my vocabulary.
I grew up poor and insignificant but God isn’t looking at my status. He sees my heart and He knows that I am useful. As a result, my life became one long list of answered prayers. God is amazing for the many things He has in store. No one can ever outdone His generosity. Because of this, I believe that my best life is still ahead of me.
What does it mean to empower a woman?
Empowerment*
Noun
em·pow·er·ment | \ im-ˈpau̇(-ə)r-mənt
- the act or action of empowering someone or something : the granting of the power, right, or authority to perform various acts or duties
- the state of being empowered to do something :the power, right, or authority to do something
Women empowerment is beyond gaining power and control over their own lives and acquiring the ability to make strategic choices. Moreover, it is beyond gender equality. For mewomen empowerment is about rediscovering themselves, bringing out the best in them, and reminding them of whom God wants them to be through the following:
- Reminding women of their beauty, identity, and worth in Christ.
Everything that God created is good. We are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). More so, a woman is extra special because she is God’s grand finale creation! Purposely made unique, capable, and loved by God. Women are God’s princesses because He is a King.
- Discovering her purpose.
There is nothing wrong with achieving goals and ambitions, and chasing dreams, as long as it honors the Lord.
I used to be worldly in my endeavors, but ended up empty. When I aligned it with God’s, I experienced joy and abundance in all areas of my life. With this, I aspire to remind every man, not only woman, that our ultimate purpose is to worship and honor the Lord. There’s a hole in our hearts that only God can fill. St. Augustine is correct when he said “our hearts are restless until we rest in God”.
- Teaching women to love herself.
Women are priceless. Proof? Jesus died for us. Women tend to forget this truth especially when they live and grow in an unhealthy environment. They will look for love in wrong places, exhaust themselves, and possibly lose themselves in the process. These women need to be redirected to God’s love. They need to empty themselves so God can take over. When a woman learns to love herself, she will know what she deserves, she will pursue God’s mission for her, and give more love to others because hers is overflowing.
- Reminding women that she has a great influence.
A woman is a daughter, wife, mother, friend, whatever her role is, she is capable of influencing people around her. Her innate charm inspires and encourages. When you hear her speak, you will not resist listening. She lives and leads by example.
